Documentary Research - Audience research and Quantitative
Audience & Quantitative research
Socio economic groups
National Readership Survey (NRS) demographic categories
Age Group
11 - 80
I have highlighted the individual target groups, which would be suitable for the audience of my documentary. I haven't chosen group D because of the certain category of the individual social grade, status and occupation.
Group D is signified as working class, this covers employed individuals that are semi skilled, unskilled and manual workers. The reason I did not choose this category is because of the key point of this audience would not be interested in my documentary.
This is because of there signified interests would not match the topic of mine documentary, this category would prefer to watch more popular T.V. programmes; instead of a one showing documentary.
Group D compared to group E is completely different in the terms of social grade, status and occupation. Group E covers the employment of those under D, which are graded as unemployed.
I think that group D would be the more preferred audience for my Documentary due to the fact of them being unemployed and pensioners.
